Matthew Jacknow, CEO
Born and raised in Forest Park, Matt is deeply entrenched in the local community and has witnessed first-hand its growth and evolution. He saw the need for a local, trustworthy contractor who specialized in the historic and custom homes unique to this area. So he established Jacknow Construction, a company that could not only meet those needs, but one that would excel beyond the highest levels of professionalism and integrity in the city.
Matt graduated from DePaul University with a B.F.A. in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology. Before starting his own company, he worked on numerous projects in Chicago where he gained experience in carpentry and project coordination. Utilizing the skills and experiences he acquired both in school and in his professional career, he established Jacknow Construction in 2004. Since then, the company has continued to grow and evolve into one of the most well-respected general contracting companies in the western suburbs.
As a general contractor, Matt offers clients a business partner who will facilitate the entire construction process; including pre-construction concerns, development of construction budgets and production schedules, management of subcontractors and city entities and the finalization of all projects on the most time- and cost-effective schedule as possible. Jacknow Construction is RRP certified and was awarded the Oak Park Preservation Award for its work on projects that addressed both historic preservation and sustainability issues.
